Jared Bastian – President

Hi! I’m Jared. I’m a Junior in Aerospace Engineering but I also am pursuing minors in Computer Engineering and Mathematics. I have served with Illini Aerospace Outreach since 2015 and currently serve as its President. As president, I help oversee our programs and help to organize our efforts to reach out to the community. I run our weekly meetings where we coordinate our efforts and make sure everyone is on the same page regarding upcoming events we are hosting or participating in. My biggest goals in Aerospace Outreach are to help inspire the next generation of engineers, much like I was inspired throughout my childhood. I also want to help current students gain opportunities to look outside themselves and serve in the community, a pattern I hope they continue past their time here at the University of Illinois.

Elle Wroblewski – Outreach Director

As Vice-President of Illini Aerospace Outreach I oversee the groups affairs outside of the University. I coordinate with community leaders and organizations, as well as corporate contacts in order to ensure we have the opportunity to participate in meaningful outreach. I am very interested in promoting engineering and sciences as a potential career path for grade school and high school students, specifically to underrepresented populations in STEM fields like female or minority students.

Tyler Yokoo – Secretary

I’m a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering currently pursuing a minor in Asian American studies. I’m an event director as well as treasurer on our executive board. This is my second year in Aerospace Outreach and I’m super excited for we have in store this year!

Event Directors

Harry Zhao

I am a freshman at the University of Illinois in aerospace engineering from Peoria, Illinois. I am an event director for Illini Aerospace Outreach, so I help organize and direct events at Illinois and at local schools. On campus, I am also a member of the University of Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Space Grant team, and I works on computer vision for an iRobotics project. In my free time, I enjoy playing ice hockey at the University’s ice rink.

Andy Song

I’m a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering and I’m an event director for Illini Aerospace Outreach. I’m super involved in soccer both on and off campus, and I hope to work for a defense contractor once I graduate.

Hadi Chouhdry – Social Director

My name’s Hadi Chouhdry and I’m a sophomore at the University of Illinois, studying Aerospace Engineering. I’m the Social Director at Illini Aerospace Outreach, coordinating and helping plan events geared towards Aerospace Department students and staff. A couple of fun facts about me are that I’m currently working on acquiring my glider soaring license (PPL-G), and I’m fluent in 6 languages!

Catherine Rogers – Public Relations Director

I’m a sophomore in aerospace engineering. I serve as the public relations director for Illini Aerospace Outreach and help plan and execute events, along with the rest of the executive board. I really enjoy working with younger students and getting them interested in STEM. Outside of school, I enjoy playing for the Illini Ridgebacks Quidditch Team.
